FEBRUARY 2012
Well, didn't we sound amazing on the Hallelujah. After all the tricky harmonies, we got there. WOW!
We are growing and it has been suggested that, with such a big group, for fire and safety reasons, we need to know who is in the building. We'll just tick ourselves in when we come in so that we know how many are in the church.
The words of songs have disappeared from the song page - and they will appear tonight (Sunday) for a short time. I'll be putting all harmonies onto CD's for those new to the choir.
Look forward to seeing you on Tuesday.
Much love
Marie

2011 UPDATES
Paul Capper of Roger Drury, funeral directors, has contacted to say 'thank you' to all the choir for a wonderful evening. £70 has been received as a donation towards Pancreatic Cancer Research. Thank you.
Also, Tanya, on behalf of John Lewis, has sent a lovely 'thank you' card.
We have received some great feedback about The Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market - we did brilliantly - even under that gazebo.
Wednesday 7th December
We are singing in St Andrew's Church, Eastleigh at a Celebration of Life dress code: black and red. Meeting at 6.30pm, seated by 6.50pm. We will sing towards end of celebration and again afterwards. We should be singing about 7.20pm so if you can't be there before, just come in, very quietly, I will keep seats.

Afterwards at Prezzo for EFC Christmas Dinner was such good fun.

Sunday 18th September 2011
Dear wonderful EFC.
Tuesday night was really enjoyable and our first session since our wonderful Savannah returned to the Netherlands. Thanks Savannah for bringing the choir together and for your wonderful energy and enthusiasm.
As I stepped into the choir mistress role, I was as nervous as a wee kitten. However, that passed as our wonderful choir made the whole experience so very enjoyable. It is so good to be together as a choir again. Thanks for singing like a dawn chorus and for your encouragement and support.
I've added two more songs, both we have sung before. The words are here for you to download. More will be added during the week.
Many thanks to all and look forward to seeing you on Tuesday.
Much love, Marie

Dear Boomshaggalaga Love Things:
All hail from the CMS a.k.a. PMS!
Next Tuesday will be the very first EFC post-CMS meeting with your fabulous new Choir Mistress Fabuloso Marie O'Brien!
I hope you will be on your best behavious and give her a fair chance, I believe she will be a breath of fresh air and has a lot to offer you so make the most of it. MArie will be taking over in maintaining the website as well from now on but for those of you who want to stay in touch you can befriend me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/MusicwithSavannah
updated for you on Facebook as well. I will be running the first session in October- which I have re-scheduled to the Monday since I'll be flying back on Tuesday) so I look forward to see EVERYBODY there! This will be my last visit to the UK for 2011 so make the most of it. I have the agreement with Marie that whenever I visit, I will run the choir which I will try to do at least twice a year since I cherish my choir and love all of you dearly! Gigs will be happening as per normal with the only difference being that you will now be lead by Marie. I believe I am leaving you in kind and capable hands indeed!!
So, I will see ALL of you in October, do stay in touch and be good to Marie.
All my love,
Savannah

Dear Lads and Ladettes:
Get ready to start again on the 13th September under the leadership of the Choir Mistress Fabuloso: Marie O' Brien. Marie has agreed to lead you guys and dolls till December. I expect all of you to be on your best behaviour. On the first Tuesday of October MArie has organised a fabulous surprise so be sure not to miss that particular Tuesday. Lots of love from the one and only CMS
Tuesday 16 August
Dear EFC-ers,
Hope you are all having a fabulous summer and are enjoying Marie's Singing Sessions on Monday in Winchester. Those of you who know me a little more intimately will not be surprised with what I am about to tell you which is that I will not be returning to the UK.Lately I have been feeling like a tiny piece of butter trying to spread too many sandwiches and it is not a feeling I enjoy particularly so I had to make a very difficult decision.
I have enjoyed my 2.5 years with EFC more than I will be able to explain and it has helped me through the darkest period of my life for which I will be eternally grateful. I apologise sincerely for having to do this through multimedia but money doesn't allow me to return at this point in time. I will be returning for a weekend in either October or November to pick up my stuff and have one final session with you guys! I am trying to persuade Marie to take over from me as Choir Mistress but she hasn't consented yet so please help! If she doesn't want to do it we will have to find another Choir Mistress because ideally EFC will live on!!! I haven't notified the church yet in the hope that on the 13th September you will just be able to start with Marie on someone else.
I am sorry to disappoint so many lovely people but my place- at the moment- is definitely here with my family in the Netherlands. Try not too hate me too much and I will be back soon for a final sing-song. I will keep informing you on the website as well.
All the best for now,
CMS a.k.a. Savannah

Well done for a fab weekend of singing. Can't believe how well we sounded so: keep up the good work!
There are lots of videos and pics up on my Facebook
Tomorrow we shall re-cycle some oldies like "Son of a preacher man", River of dreams" etc. and generally just have a heap of fun singing. This is the LAST session before the Summer Break so I hope to see everybody so I can say goodbye, but don't worry I WILL come back in September. Scout's honour!

Dear Cheery Chirpers,
Well done for Wednesday. I know how hard it is to stay energetic when the audience is less than supportive (Lord knows I have done enough of those in my time!) but you pulled it off. You stayed cheerful and kept the energy going and really SANG THE SONGS and I honour you for that. Let's do the same tomorrow and Sunday. For those of you who didn't sing last year: the Eastleigh Mela is a great experience. The stage is enormous and reception very welcoming. See you in Romsey tomorrow where we will default back to the WDC playlist. also, if you can, park the car in eastleigh and catch the train as parking will be a bitch in Romsey tomorrow. For those of you who want to stay and watch me perform with my band on the second (which hopefully will be all of you!!!!), if you insist on a proper seat I am afraid you need to buy a ticket, alternatively there will be the option of sitting on the stairs or standing on the side. Believe me: it will be worth it!
Please note that there is a different dresscode for the gigs. Our performance on the 17th June will be BLACK/ORANGE whereas our gigs on the 27th June, 2nd July and 10th July will be in WHITE/PINK!

Well done to all the singers present today at Holyrood, you did me proud!
Since everybody really loved that "sweet dreams" Eurythmics one we will give that one a bash Tuesday
I have also made a change to our playlist for our Mega Gig at the WDC in November and decided that all the songs will be sang by the full choir, so no sol-performances (including yours truly) ONE LOVE (lead) will be sang by all the man together and we ladies will do the harmomies. Have added some relatively new songs as well. I believe we perform best when we sing as one, and at the same time! Hope you like the idea!

Right next Tuesday in addition to the Rose- which went surprisingly well although it never fails to make me suicidal- we will start on ONE LOVE as well as work on the other songs on the list. Almost everybody now has CD nr 1. First Tuesday in October I will bring a shipload of CD2.
Happy singing as always, see you at the Golden hour at 2 PM on Thursday for sopme high quality entertainment!
All hail, the CMS!
Friday 10 September
Dear darlings,
Here is the playlist for our gig at the Golden Hour next Thursday:
Also, for the Bournmouth wedding the week after Gemma who is a friend of the lovely couple wants to sing "The Rose" so we will rehearse that Tuesday as well, it's easy enough so it shouldn't take us too long
So keep singing, have a lovely weekend and I shall see you Tuesday!
XXX CMSWednesday 8 September
Wow, what a great session yesterday and so many new faces! I don't think our level of enthusiasm has ever been higher and we sounded great which is always a bonus.
I am going to try and restrain myself with adding new songs now so next Tuesday we will work some more on the stuff on the first CD. I will bring more copies of the CD as requested. Then the week after that I will make sure to have burned the second CD as well so we have all the songs for rehearsal on CD.
See you Tuesday and just keep singing!

The CMS is now Blogging!
EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA
The benefit of organising gigs yourself is that you can add as much as you like! So, we will sing Lay your love on me by Racey (or at least give it a Whirl on Tuesday!)
Please have a listen:

Hello everybody,
Am nearly done singing my socks off recording that B%^&*y CD so next time I have a good idea: shoot me right away please!
It will be very helpful, so all for the good of the people so to say.
I started a new group called CMS: Eastleigh fusion Choir as I lost admin to the other one when I cancelled my account a while back.
Anyhoo, looking forward to seeing you all this Tuesday and just so you know:
My new goal is to have 70 members before the end of 2010 so help me spread the EFC GOSPEL!
Hallelujah!
All hail: the CMS!!!

I will be working hard on making the CD's this weekend so see you Tuesday.

Tuesday 17 August
Please make sure you have the lyrics for ALL the songs on the november Playlist with you every session so we can be flexible during rehearsals. For today, the plan is to at least work on ONE LOVE with our lovely Kevin taking the lead, SURFIN USA, LEAN ON ME, MY GIRL and MONDAY MONDAY and ofcourse anything else we fancy but if you can at least print/ bring these that would be brilliant!
See you in a couple of hours!
Kisses from the CMS!
Ps. I need to know who will/ won't be able to do the Bournemouth Wedding on the 29th September. It will be early afternoon so check your diaries and let me know tonight. Will bring a list (am horribly organised lately, think I am very ill!)
Cheerio!
Monday 16 August
Hello hard workers!
I would like you to have a go at For the Longest Time which we will perform at the WDC in November. Harmonies have been added to the SONGS page.
Here is the Playlist for our gig at the WDS in November, hope you like it! This is not the exact order we will be singing them in though.
Also, am tidying the Website, should be done by tomorrow afternoon!
All good things,
CMS
Ps. I am unable to upload all the recordings of harmonies I have so what I will do is this weekend I will create seperate CD's for each of the groups so Low, Medium and High and put the relevant parts on the CD which you can then purchase next week for £1 if that's okay with you. It won't be for all the songs as some of the songs are very simple but for the trickier ones like For the Longest time, Hail holy queen etc.
Tuesday 10 August
See you tonight!

Andrea kindly uploaded tons of videos of the choir:
I have uploaded lots of pics (courtesy to Big John). Check GALLERY! Have added the septerate Acapella harmonies for For the Longest time as well , please have alook/ listen. I think it would be grand if we could sing this one on the 11th July but that might be a little soon. We can always try though! Andrea gave me the recordings of our Benefit Performance and I noticed how well "This little light of mine" sounded so can you have a look on the harmonies as it would be brilliant to add this one to our playlist for the next two gigs I think- Ball of Confusion will have to be replaced unfortunately. So lots of homework my lovelies!
Happy Singing!
